On the 5th (local time), Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu evaluated Ukraine’s ‘major counteroffensive’ that began in earnest in early June as ‘a complete failure.’

According to Russia’s TASS news agency, Minister Shoigu said during a conference call with senior Russian military officials that day, “The Ukrainian army failed to achieve its goals on any front.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin also said at a press conference after먹튀검증 a summit meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Turkiye in Sochi, Russia the day before, “Ukraine’s counteroffensive has failed.”

However, he said the Russian-controlled southern Zaporizhia was “the most tense area” and that Ukraine had deployed a combat brigade trained by Western instructors from its strategic reserve units to the area.

Minister Shoigu claimed, “The enemy (Ukrainian army) lost more than 66,000 troops and more than 7,600 weapons after launching the so-called counteroffensive.” The Russian military also said that in the last month alone, it shot down

more than 159 High-Mobility Artillery Rocket System ( HIMAS ) rockets, more than 1,000 drones, and 13 cruise missiles.

Minister Shoigu said, “The Ukrainian military is attacking civilian facilities to hide the failure of its counterattack,” and added, “These terrorist attacks are considered a military victory.”

Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky replaced Defense Minister Olekshy Reznikow on the 3rd (local time). President Zelenskyy nominated opposition politician Rustem Umerou, head of the State Assets Fund, as the new defense minister.

President Zelenskiy said, “Reznikow has been through an all-out war for more than 550 days,” and said of Representative Umerou, “No further explanation is needed.”
