Participation guidelines and detailed schedules for the 104th National Sports Festival (National Sports Festival) have been finalized, such as applications for participation starting at the end of this month. Since the 104th National Sports Festival will be held right after the Hangzhou Asian Games먹튀검증, a large number of national players are expected to participate. The organizers of the event are expecting a box office success due to factors such as Asian Games medalist participation.
The 104th National Sports Festival is hosted by the Korea Sports Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It is supervised by Jeollanam-do, the venue of the competition, the Jeollanam-do Office of Education, and the Jeollanam-do Sports Association, and financed by the National Sports Promotion Corporation.
According to the Jeollanam-do National Sports Festival planning team on the 3rd, registration for the general handball men’s division was received for 5 days from the 24th to the 31st of this month, and the registration for this competition begins on August 1st and ends on the 23rd. The draw for the tournament events will be held on September 1st at the Mokpo Indoor Gymnasium in Jeonnam.
The tournament will be held from October 13th to 19th at 70 stadiums including Mokpo Stadium in Iwon, Jeollanam-do. A team of 30,000 people (20,000 players, 10,000 executives), including those under the age of 18, colleges, and general teams, will compete in 49 events.
Among the 49 events, demonstration events are two such as hapkido and jokgu. Pre-games will be held in three events: handball (men’s general division), badminton (all categories), and billiards (all categories). Handball will be held from August 23 to 27 at Muan Sports Park in Jeollanam-do, badminton will be held from October 9 to 14 in Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (scheduled), and billiards will be held from October 11 to 14 at Mokpo Maritime University Gymnasium.
For individual and group awards, medals and certificates are awarded to 1st to 3rd place respectively. The overall performance award delivers the Presidential Cup and Korea Sports Association championship flag to the first place. The 2nd place will receive the Prime Minister Cup and the Korea Sports Association championship flag, and the 3rd place will receive the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Cup and the Korea Sports Association championship flag. The best player (MVP) of the tournament is awarded the Korea Sports Writers Federation President’s Cup. Athletes who set new world and Korean records will receive the Korea Sports Council Award.
The organizers of the event are expecting a box office success as the event is held five days after the closing of the Hangzhou Asian Games, with a large number of medal winners participating. Also, since it is the first national sports event held in Jeonnam in 15 years, it is expected to be a catalyst for regional development.
Yoon Yeong-hwan, head of the planning team for the Jeonnam-do National Sports Festival, said, “As a matter of custom, many famous star players such as medalists participate in the National Sports Festival held immediately after the Olympics or Asian Games. We expect a box office success with their participation.” He continued, “In the case of Jeonnam, the National Sports Festival will be held in Mokpo for the first time in 10 years since the 2008 Yeosu Games. We are doing our best to prepare for the competition,” he added.
Kim Yeong-rok, chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Games (Governor of Jeonnam Province), said, “We want to make this year’s National Sports Festival a stage of national harmony and emotion comparable to the Olympics by mobilizing all resources and capabilities.
